How Dr Soph can help you

01

Clinical expertise

A clinical psychologist with over ten years’ experience, Dr Soph has supported people to make a genuine change in their lives.

02

Therapy that fits your life

Talking therapy by video. From your front room to your hotel room, you just need Wi-Fi or a phone signal. I work with clients in most countries, and I'll confirm whether I can see you in yours when we first speak. You can tailor the frequency and length of sessions, and there's no minimum commitment.

03

Practical, personal therapy

Each session is tailored to your needs. Therapy should be practical, leaving you with the skills you need to create positive change in your life.

Dr Soph will sit with you through the difficult times, and won’t rush you through them. If you need practical skills to manage what you’re facing, she’ll teach you them. If you need someone to challenge you, she’ll do that too, kindly and honestly. She’s compassionate, and she’s not the therapist who sits in silence.

She’s a doctor, but you’re the expert on you.

01

Reach out

Send an email telling Dr Soph a little about what’s bringing you to therapy.

She’ll read your message carefully to make sure what you’re looking for is within her expertise, and that she’s likely to be the right therapist to help you make meaningful change.

If it looks like a good fit, you’ll be invited to a free 30-minute consultation.

02

The consultation

This is a chance to talk a little more about what’s going on, what you’re hoping to change and what you’d like from therapy.

It’s also a chance for both of you to work out whether you’re a good fit. You should feel comfortable with your therapist, and Dr Soph needs to feel confident that her approach and expertise are right for what you’re facing.

03

Ongoing therapy

If you decide to work together, sessions are 55 minutes and take place online.

The frequency of sessions will depend on what you need, with weekly sessions often recommended at first before moving to fortnightly as things progress.

There’s no minimum commitment.

Questions

Is Dr Soph currently taking new therapy clients?

Yes. She currently has space for one more client and keeps a waiting list, so if that space has gone, you can join it.

How does online therapy work?

Talking therapy is offered by video, so you can have sessions from home or while travelling — from your front room to your hotel room. All you need is a Wi-Fi connection.

Can you see me if I live abroad?

Often, yes. I work with clients in most countries, but I can't practise everywhere because of rules around my professional registration and insurance. Tell me where you're based when you get in touch and I'll let you know.

How long are sessions, and how often?

On average, sessions are 55 minutes long. Dr Soph usually works with people on a weekly basis at first, switching to fortnightly sessions at a later stage. Some work spans a single session to six weeks, some is longer-term. It all depends on your concerns and goals.

What happens in the first session?

You will be asked what has brought you to therapy, what your goals are, your obstacles and your strengths. By the end of that session you will understand your situation, what is causing it and what is maintaining it — and you will have a plan.

How quickly will I get a reply?

Within 72 hours. Please do not include any intimate details of your experiences in messages — this is to ensure your privacy.
